Not needed any more
Former location of a Telus pay telephone, Douglas College, New Westminster |
At one time you'd see telephone booths, and other types of pay phones, all of the place. (There were quite a few of them around the college.)
But those days have long since passed. Every student now has a mobile phone and many of them can't keep away from them even during class.
Just another classic example of the product life cycle in action.

The pay phone is in terminal decline and I can't see it ever recovering.
