It is inevitable, so you might as well be prepared

Stuff happens. It is one of the realities of life. And if you are running a public transit system you must be prepared for the inevitable problems that occur. Buses crash, trains break down, and passengers get in the way, both literally and metaphorically.
I was interested to see this pre-printed Service Disruption notice at the Broadway and Commercial SkyTrain station.
Accompanied by audio announcements and notices on the video displays on the platforms there is no reason why a passenger would not know what was going on and how to deal with it.
But of course this does assume that the passengers can read English and /or understand spoken English. And in a city full of immigrants, such as Vancouver, that is not a given. But this is better than nothing.
